Frequently Asked Questions
Our products have been tested and confirmed compatible with selected Samsung, Google, and Apple devices. They support all Android and iOS devices that comply with the Qi wireless charging standard. However, due to variations among device models, compatibility, charging speed, and performance may differ. Some devices may charge more slowly or may not charge properly. For detailed compatibility information, please refer to the compatibility section on the product detail page.
Yes, our chargers support up to 15W fast wireless charging, depending on your device and adapter.
SwanScout wireless chargers generally support charging with a phone case, provided the case meets specific criteria. Compatible phone cases should be less than 5mm thick and have a flat surface in contact with the wireless charger.
Incompatible phone cases include:
- Metal phone cases or cases with metal attachments, such as ring stands, magnetic plates, or metal kickstands. These may block wireless signals, reducing charging efficiency, or cause localized overheating due to metal absorption of electromagnetic energy.
- Cases with irregular shapes or raised decorations, which may interfere with proper alignment on the wireless charger, leading to charging instability.
- Phone cases thicker than 5mm, as thicker cases can obstruct wireless signals, resulting in slow charging, overheating, or failure to charge.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a phone case that meets these requirements when charging with a SwanScout wireless charger.
Wireless charging generates heat as a normal process. SwanScout wireless chargers feature a temperature control system that automatically stops charging if the temperature gets too high to ensure safety. To minimize heat, avoid using thick or metal phone cases, ensure proper alignment with the charging coil, and charge in a well-ventilated area. If you need further assistance, please contact SwanScout customer support.
Yes, we offer wireless chargers designed specifically for MagSafe. Our product range with an "M" at the end of the model name (e.g., SwanScout 706M) is fully compatible with MagSafe and supports optimal charging for iPhone 12 and newer models. Please check the product details for further compatibility information.
Yes, SwanScout wireless chargers are equipped with overcharge protection. When the device is fully charged, the charger automatically stops supplying power, preventing overcharging and protecting the battery's health.
To ensure the magnetic contacts on your smartwatch are aligned with the wireless charger, gently place the watch on the charger and feel for a magnetic pull. If the magnetic contacts are properly aligned, the watch should securely attach to the charger, and the charging indicator (if available) should light up, showing that charging is in progress. You can also check the charging status on your phone or watch to confirm that charging is taking place.
The charging speed of a wireless charger is mainly determined by the following factors:
- Charger’s Power Output: The maximum power output of the wireless charger directly affects the charging speed. Chargers that support higher power outputs (such as 10W or 15W) generally provide faster charging speeds.
- Device’s Charging Compatibility: The device’s wireless charging capability also limits the charging speed. If a device only supports lower power levels (such as 5W or 10W), the charging speed will be constrained, even if the charger supports higher power outputs.
- Charging Alignment: Proper alignment of the device and charger’s magnetic contacts is essential for efficient charging. Misalignment can result in slower charging speeds or no charging at all.
- Device’s Battery Health and Capacity: Devices with larger battery capacities may take longer to charge. Additionally, older or damaged batteries can also slow down charging speed, even with a high-power charger.
QC (Quick Charge) and PD (Power Delivery) are two common fast charging technologies, developed by Qualcomm and the USB Promoter Group, respectively. A QC/PD adapter is a power adapter that supports these technologies and can provide higher power outputs for faster charging.
QC Adapter: QC Protocol (Quick Charge) is a fast charging technology developed by Qualcomm. It works by intelligently adjusting the voltage and current output of the charger, allowing compatible phones or devices to charge much faster. QC is commonly found in many Android smartphones, especially earlier fast-charging models. Initially, QC was mostly used with traditional USB-A chargers, but now it also supports USB-C interfaces. Using a QC-compatible charger and device can significantly reduce charging time.
PD Adapter: PD Protocol (Power Delivery) is a universal fast charging standard developed by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF). It supports higher power output—up to 100 watts—and can intelligently negotiate different voltage and current levels to safely and efficiently charge various devices. PD is widely used in smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices, especially those with USB-C ports. Thanks to its broad compatibility and high power support, PD is increasingly popular among device manufacturers and charger makers.
Both QC and PD adapters help users charge their devices faster and more efficiently, enhancing the overall charging experience.
The main difference between magnetic and non-magnetic wireless chargers is that magnetic wireless chargers are equipped with integrated magnets that assist in aligning the device precisely with the charger, thereby enhancing charging efficiency. Non-magnetic wireless chargers lack this feature, requiring the user to manually align the device, which can potentially impact charging performance.
To determine whether your device is compatible with a magnetic wireless charger, first confirm that it supports wireless charging. For Apple devices, only those with Magsafe functionality (such as iPhone 12 and newer models) are compatible with magnetic alignment and will charge automatically. For Samsung devices, while they do support wireless charging, they do not feature magnetic alignment. Consequently, when using a magnetic wireless charger from Swanscout, Samsung devices must be paired with a magnetic charging case. It's important to note that if the magnetic case for Samsung devices contains magnetic elements, such as magnetic plates or magnetic rings, these may interfere with the magnetic connection between the phone and charger, potentially reducing charging efficiency. To ensure optimal charging performance, it is recommended to use a case that is designed specifically for magnetic alignment. Without a magnetic charging case, the magnetic wireless charger will not be able to charge Samsung phones.
Yes, it is normal for a wireless charger to produce slight noise during charging. The noise is usually caused by electromagnetic resonance, current conversion, or compatibility issues between the device and charger. This noise generally does not affect charging performance. If the noise is unusually loud, it may be helpful to check the compatibility between the device and charger, or contact customer support for further assistance.

Please contact the official SwanScout email (support@swanscout.com) promptly after checking the following:
- Verify Compatibility: Ensure that the model you purchased is compatible with your device. Detailed compatibility information can be found in the “Compatibility” section.
- Check Adapter Specifications: Confirm that the adapter wattage is higher than the product’s total wattage and that it is a QC PD adapter. To determine the type of plug your charger requires, please refer to the product details page.
- Inspect for Protective Cases:
- Avoid using phone cases with metal components: Do not use cases containing iron sheets, rings, metal stands, or other metallic parts. These block wireless electromagnetic signals, affecting charging efficiency. Small metal pieces may heat up, causing localized overheating on the phone's back.
- Keep phone case thickness under 5mm: Cases thicker than 5mm can increase signal obstruction, leading to unstable charging or excessive heat. Thinner cases are better for maintaining a stable charging process.
- Ensure the contact surface between the case and the charger is flat: If the case has irregular designs or protruding decorations, it may prevent proper alignment, reducing charging effectiveness.
- Address issues with raised camera modules: If the phone’s rear camera is raised and cannot align properly with the charging area, try removing the case and charging the phone directly to avoid significant overheating.
- Ensure Proper Coil Alignment: Check that the device is correctly aligned with the charger’s coil. Misalignment can prevent charging.
- Maintain Proper Charging Environment: Ensure that the charging environment temperature is below 29°C (85°F), as excessive heat may affect charging performance.
